Your Personal Town Guide
West Yorkshire
There are many attractions to the elegant spa town of Ilkley – the moor for its prehistoric rock carvings; the Roman fort by the parish church and the exclusive shops on The Grove. In a few minutes walk from the centre you can cross the river Wharfe over the old packhorse bridge and climb woodland paths. The town is also well known for its Lido that opens in the summer; its literature festival in the autumn and on New Year’s Day many take the plunge into the freezing well on the moor.
