Helmsley
North Yorkshire
At the centre of this attractive market town lies a large market square on which there is a monument to the 2nd Earl of Feversham who lived at Duncombe Park – a stately home – that lies just off the town centre. Also off the market square can be found Helmsley Castle that dates to the early 1100s. Just four miles away, in a secluded valley, lies the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey. The town attracts discerning shoppers to its wide variety of independent food shops, as well as a place to meet for motorcyclists!
